Datacenter Structure
Physical Structure
All Silicon Valley Colocation buildings meet or exceed local building codes. Our Santa Clara IDC was built as a Class A telco facility. Our state-of-the-art protection systems are described below.
Fire Suppression
Within the datacenter a dual-interlock, multiple zoned, dry pipe system samples air and issues alarms prior to water entering the system. Before activation, multiple cross-linked events must occur:
- Detection of fire by ceiling-mounted smoke and heat detectors.
- Detection of a temperature of 212 degrees F at a sprinkler-head location.
- Fire suppression occurs only at the event location.
Earthquake
The structural systems of our buildings meet or exceed California building code requirements for lateral seismic design forces. All cabinets and equipment are seismically anchored and braced.
